The Free Press in Mankato, Minn., seeks a high-energy, experienced advertising professional to lead its sales team.
The advertising director will lead a staff of 12 and be responsible for generating all advertising revenue from TMC, retail and classified sales, along with sales from monthly and quarterly magazines, special sections and digital products. The advertising director will work to meet the monthly department goals by developing and executing multi-platform sales strategies; training and developing staff; and creatively producing opportunities that serve the advertising community and boost revenue.
Candidates should have a background in advertising management that includes budgeting as well as development of business strategy. We expect someone with a record of meeting revenue targets and effective expense management. Also essential are strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and an emphasis on customer service.
The Free Press is a 19,500-circulation, seven-day newspaper in south-central Minnesota. In addition to the newspaper, we publish several monthly and quarterly magazines, a weekly TMC product and a website, www.mankatofreepress.com.
