The River Valley Newspaper Group has an opening for a full-time general assignment reporter.
This position would based out of La Crosse and would cover everything from features and profiles, government meetings and breaking news. Stories and photos would be published in several of our papers, including the Coulee News in West Salem, the Onalaska-Holmen Courier-Life and the La Crosse Tribune.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable whether writing a feature story, covering a meeting, working closely with our presentation editors or analyzing a database. Experience with digital-first reporting using online platforms to break news, promoting your work with social media platforms and telling stories in alternative forms is essential.
La Crosse is Wisconsin’s largest city on the Mississippi River. Our area is blessed with outdoor recreational opportunities and a rich and vibrant arts scene.
Previous reporting experience is preferred, but outstanding college graduates are welcome to apply. The Tribune is a Lee Enterprises paper and offers competitive salary and benefits.
This reporter will work afternoons and evenings Tuesdays through Saturdays.
