The Free Press seeks an energetic newspaper professional, who is proven in sales and management, to lead its audience development team.
The director will lead staff to grow readership and revenue in a competitive market. We expect someone with a creative approach to design and implement marketing strategies that build home-delivery and single-copy sales. This person will manage all aspects of subscription fulfillment and renewal, promotional activities, distribution systems and circulation metrics. Our director must lead by example, set benchmarks and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to customer service.
Candidates should have management experience in audience development that includes meeting revenue and expense targets. The director must have an understanding of contractor relations and be familiar with the latest industry auditing rules and guidelines.
The Free Press is a 15,000-circulation, seven-day newspaper in south-central Minnesota. In addition to the newspaper, we publish several monthly and quarterly magazines, a weekly TMC product and a website, www.mankatofreepress.com.
Mankato is located in the scenic Minnesota River Valley. We are a fast-growing retail destination that serves an economically and culturally vibrant region. The city is home to four institutions of higher learning, a health network served by Mayo Clinic Health System, an award-winning elementary school system and recreation for all seasons.
