Managing Editor

The River Valley Media Group is looking for a hands-on editor to coordinate and direct all editorial activities for our weekly publications. The person in the position has the primary responsibility for achieving content goals and objectives in all of our River Valley Newspapers weekly publications. He/she supervises the editors, and writing staff, making sure each contributes to every day’s finished product. Works with his/her staff and others to develop and implement plans for each day, as well as up to one month in the future.

Successful candidate will have the following:

Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university program
Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in an executive role
Strong interpersonal and organizational communication skills
Knowledge of planning and budgeting processes
Successful candidate should demonstrate a strong record of achievement
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software
