MNA’s ad committee advances the well-being of Minnesota newspapers through research, promotion and advertising sales. The committee guides MNA’s advertising service and makes recommendations to the board of directors regarding MNA sales programs.
Digital Media Committee
This committee oversees development and implementation of digital programs designed to generate revenue for members and the industry.
The committee recommends topics for workshops to help educate MNA newspaper members on technology and software. The committee also searches for ways MNA members and/or their association can benefit from technology and makes recommendations to the MNA Board regarding programs or vendor relationships which can benefit members.
Journalism Education Committee
The journalism education committee is concerned with attracting professional journalists by encouraging stronger high school and college journalism programs. The committee works with the annual Better Newspaper Contest, convention programs for the students and professionals and internship programs for members.
Member Services Committee
This committee reviews MNA’s current member services and develops new services to help MNA member newspapers. The committee reviews proposals from vendors seeking to market products or services to MNA members and makes recommendations to the MNA Board regarding new member services. The committee also reviews applications for MNA membership.
The legislative committee makes recommendations regarding the association’s legislative priorities. The committee meets as needed and at the MNA convention to review the agenda for the year’s legislative session. The committee also monitors non-legislative government activities and makes recommendations to the MNA board.
Daily Newspaper Committee
The daily newspaper committee addresses concerns from Minnesota dailies. The daily newspapers meet in the fall. The meeting is hosted by a Minnesota daily newspaper. Weekly newspaper people are always welcome and encouraged to attend.
This committee develops strategies and programs to support the work of MNA’s nonprofit training arm, the Minnesota News Media Institute.
