Plan to attend NNA’s 122nd Annual Convention & Trade
Show.
Mark your calendar today to attend NNA’s annual convention and trade show in St. Paul, September 25-28. The convention is a terrific opportunity to network with peers, to see what’s new and available to our industry at the trade show, and to attend informative seminars and round table discussions.
Your newspaper does not have to be an NNA member to attend. NNA is extending its member rate to Minnesota newspapers.
The convention is geared toward the community newspaper – weeklies and small dailies. This is a great opportunity to hear speakers talk on postal issues for newspapers, generating and using market and readership research data for community newspapers, convergence in the newsroom between print and Web, effective and creative ad ideas, open government issues particularly from the community newspaper perspective, and much more.
Thursday afternoon workshops will include “Convergence of Media” lead by Kevin Slimp of the Institute of Newspaper Technology, and “Financial Rules That Enable Small Papers to Succeed” lead by John Tompkins of News Media Corp. The opening extravaganza will take place on Thursday evening.
Friday will kick off with the opening flag ceremony and guest speaker Peter Yarrow, of the musical group Peter, Paul & Mary. Yarrow will speak on Operation Respect and probably lead us in a few rounds of old favorite tunes.
Saturday morning will kick off with Howard Helmer, the World’s Fastest Omelet Maker. The Great Idea Exchange, round table sessions and awards ceremony will also take place on Saturday.
Make your reservations now at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, St. Paul Riverfront, 800-2Crowne. Mention the National Newspaper Association for the group rate of $139 single/double.
