Full-time reporter to produce engaging sports and news content for our print newspapers and digital sites with an emphasis on high school sports reporting, features and profiles. The position is 32 hours of sports and 8 hours of news. This position collaborates with other members of the Echo Press editorial team as well as editorial teams at other properties in Forum Communications, to develop the most creative and appealing content for our audience.
Sports teams in our area are fun to cover – ranging from hockey, basketball, gymnastics, trap shooting, golf, bowling and more!
You will build rapport with sources, produce stories from athletic events and highlight local athletes in feature stories. This position includes a healthy benefit package including PTO, paid holidays, medical, 401k and more importantly, a dedicated, fun staff!
Excellent communication, reporting skills and leadership skills required, as well as the ability to write with confidence and work under deadline. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
