Design Training with Ed Henninger
April 12, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm$55 – $125
A Day of Design with Ed Henninger presented by MNI
The day will be full of helpful ideas!
Just some of the items that Ed will be covering:
From the Front: Getting readers into–and through–your newspaper.
Using design and content approaches to grab readers and get them to go through the entire newspaper. We look at the front page–and other key pages–that will draw reader attention and compel them to read.
Ed’s Top Ten Design Hints…and more! During his 28-plus years of consulting with community newspapers, Ed Henninger has written hundreds of weekly Henninger Helpful Hints. Ed takes his more meaningful (and some fun!) hints to share during this session. There’s a lot of design wisdom in this topic and Ed presents it with his usual flair.
Ten Surefire Ways to Design a Better Newspaper. If you could do ten things–just ten–to make your newspaper more contemporary, more compelling, more readable…well, these would be the very ten. Ed goes through them sharing why they work…and how to make them work at your paper.
You’re Just My Type. Getting your typography right is critical to keeping readers. No matter how many photos, charts, maps and other visuals you place on the page, readers get most of the information you offer by reading your type. In this breakthrough session, Ed covers the nuts and bolts of text type bringing your typography to a new level of excellence. He’ll also focus on headlines, pullouts and other display typography.
It’s a mix-bag of usable information.
