The Minnesota Newspaper Association has received several inquiries from members about plans for its 2021 convention and Better Newspaper Contest Awards Gala. Conversations with MNA’s convention hotel, Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, led both parties to the realization that with the amount of people who attend the MNA convention, coupled with restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we would not be able to execute the agreement to host the 2021 MNA convention as an in-person event.

It is disappointing we will not be gathering in person. However, we are working hard to make the convention and the MNA BNC Awards Gala worthwhile and special.

So, we are excited to announce the MNA has decided to join forces with the Iowa Newspaper Association and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association to host our first virtual Tri-State Convention February 4-5, 2021. An outstanding program is being planned.

And, save the date: MNA’s virtual BNC Awards Gala will take place Thursday, January 28. We’re planning on a fun event filled with celebration and surprises. We promise you won’t want to miss it. See the attached flier!
