Newspapers are dying? Heck no…far from it! People still want the news. People still need the news. People still trust information printed in their local newspaper far more than information found online or on tv. Newspapers continue to have a solid impact in the communities they serve. Finally, statistics show that people of all ages consume more news now than ever before. Help us tell that important story with your 2019 Print Ad Design Contest Entry. As always, MNA Convention attendees will review the ads and choose their favorites; winners will receive a monetary prize; and ad submissions will be available for promotional use by newspapers statewide!


Submitted entries should consist of one (1) quarter page (5” x 10.5”) full color print ad. All entries are required to leave blank space (at least 4 column inches) at the bottom of the print ad so that statewide newspapers can personalize them for publication.

All entries must be submitted via email to advertising@mna.org as PDF files. The submission deadline is January 16. All entries will be displayed at the 2019 MNA Annual Convention. Entries will be posted anonymously. All MNA members attending the convention will receive a ballot to vote for their top choice. Winners will be announced during Friday’s luncheon.

The winning entries will be posted at mna.org at the conclusion on the convention and available to member newspapers for publication. All newspapers submitting entries must be an MNA member in good standing. Newspapers may submit unlimited entries, but each should be submitted by different newspaper employees.
