Lisa Hills, executive director of the Minnesota Newspaper Association, has been elected president of Newspaper Association Managers Inc., (NAM). She succeeds Greg Sherrill of the Tennessee Press Association, now NAM’s immediate past president.
Lisa is the third Minnesotan to become NAM president. Her predecessor, Linda Falkman, was president in l995-96 and Robert M. Shaw was president in 1970-71. All three were at NAM’s annual meeting last week in Minneapolis.
Layne Bruce of the Mississippi Press Association was elected vice president of NAM and will be the chairman for next year’s annual meeting.
George F. White of the New Jersey Press Association was elected secretary. Two new directors were elected to the NAM Board: Michelle Rea of the New York Press Association to a two- year term expiring in 2017 and Steve Nixon of the Saskatchewan Community Newspaper Association to a three-year term expiring in 2018. Tom Newton, California Newspaper Publishers Association, is a holdover director, term expiring in 2016.
