MNA’s Nominating Committee has asked Karin Ramige Cornwell to stand for election to the MNA Board of Directors
Karin Ramige Cornwell is the Vice-President of Operations at McLeod Publishing, Inc., in Glencoe, which publishes The McLeod County Chronicle, serving the communities in the Glencoe Silver Lake school district, The Arlington Enterprise, serving the communities of Arlington and Green Isle, The Silver Lake Leader, with two shoppers, The Glencoe Advertiser and Sibley Shopper and a number of niche publications. McLeod Publishing, Inc., is owned by MNA Past President Bill Ramige and his wife Joyce.
Cornwell held her first job with McLeod Publishing at the age of five, delivering five Chronicles on the way home from daycare. She worked a variety of jobs at the newspaper throughout high school and college.
Cornwell graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa majoring in business and Spanish. She later earned an MBA from Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
After a 15-year break from the newspaper business, Cornwell returned to the family company and her roots at McLeod Publishing in 2009. Prior to her return to Glencoe, Cornwell held a number of positions with Target Corporation in Minneapolis.
Cornwell has served on MNA’s Advertising and Digital Media committees since 2011 and is a 2010 graduate of the MNI Editor Community and Leadership program. In addition she is the Vice-President and Treasurer of the Glencoe Rotary Club and an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe where she serves on the Church Council, Mission and Social Concerns and Budget and Finance teams and plays in the hand bell choir.
Cornwell and her husband, Mike, live in Glencoe. When they are not able to be on the golf course, they are cheering for all the Minnesota sports teams.
At 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, Nominating Committee Chairman Kevin Anderson will receive further nominations for officers and directors at the Member Services Booth at the MNA Convention.
